Operating principles
These aren't slogans — they decide where we put time and where we don't.
Filter upstream
Attack traffic should never reach the origin. If it has to, the filter is in the wrong place.
Protocol-aware
UDP isn't TCP. A game packet isn't an API call. Generic filtering is generic failure.
Tune in incidents
Profiles never stay generic. We adjust them during real attacks and write the lessons back in.
Stay boring on purpose
The best mitigation result is that the customer's users don't notice anything happened.
What we won't do
Boundaries we keep
- We don't pretend to have capacity we don't have. If a region isn't a fit, we say so.
- We don't protect attacks against third parties. Ever.
- We don't sell static SLA numbers to make the front page read better.
- We don't deploy filtering profiles we haven't tested for false positives on real traffic.
